COLOR IS MY MEMORY
Deeply influenced by the landscapes of Morocco and later Spain, by the vibrant and varied colors of the environment in which I live, I translate these impressions into painting, sometimes long afterwards, guided by an image that lingers in my visual memory; at other times, leaving representation behind altogether, often painting in diptychs to move from the figurative to the abstract.
From Morocco to Spain
After several years spent in Morocco, I now live in the mountains overlooking the Costa Blanca.
The landscapes, the light and the seasons have changed, but colour remains the common thread running through my work. The red lands of Morocco now dialogue with the blossoms, the mountains and the summer fires of Spain.
